MK Counseling and Wellness, PLLC is always looking for excellent clinicians to bring on to our team. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life using body centered, trauma informed, and anit-oppressive frameworks.
We are committed to serving BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, folks in larger bodies, neurodivergent individuals, and folks from lower socio-economic statuses. We do this by centering the experiences of marginalized voices, learning, and collaborating with experts in the filed with these specific lived experiences. We also partner with most major insurance companies, Medicaid, and offer sliding scale rates.

Compensation & Benefits:
W-2 Status: $65,000-$78,000 per year add wages, with fee structure based on licensure level and experience.
Bonus Structure: 3-year vested bonus, dependent on practice profit and performance (at the discretion of the practice).

Qualifications:
Education & Licensure:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
1-2 years direct one on one clinical experience.
Licensed in the state of Illinois
Specialization in a particular population or therapeutic modality is a plus.
Experience or interest in working with individuals across the lifespan and couples is preferred.
Training in trauma-specific modalities such as: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, NARM, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Hakomi, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, etc.
Training in specific bodywork modalities such as: Yoga, Reiki, breathwork/meditation, etc.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Willingness to learn and adapt to the clinic’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, such as SimplePractice.
Roles And Responsibilities
Basic Knowledge:
1. Assessing patients: Gathering information through initial consultations, interviews, and case histories
2. Developing treatment plans: Develop individualized treatment plans for clients through assessment, diagnosis, and review of available resources based on the patient's needs and emotional and mental health
3. Providing therapy: Utilize evidence-based counseling techniques (e.g., CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing) to help patients explore their thoughts and feelings, and to cope with life's challenges
4. Maintaining records: Keeping detailed and accurate records of each session with a client using our EHR Simple Practice
5. Making referrals: Providing referrals for additional care or services when needed
7. Providing crisis intervention: Identify and address potential risks to client safety or wellbeing and intervening with emergency care techniques and protocols when patients are in crisis
8. Assist with marketing & Attending Supervision: Attending networking events, collaborating with other therapists, and attending regular supervision assist in building your caseload and ongoing clinical development.
*Building a full caseload may take 6-8 months.
9. Stay current with developments in the field of psychology and therapy through ongoing professional development and training, weekly individual supervision, monthly group supervision, and practice trainings

The practice has a primary focus on adult clientele, but welcomes further expansion to other specialties, particularly child/family treatment and couple/marital therapy as we seek to broaden the practice expertise.

The practice uses SimplePractice for all EHR management. Clinicians can expect to be supported with any and all billing and administrative needs.
There is a dedicated specialist to handle insurance verification, adjustments to copays/deductibles, claim submission, denials, and disputes. In addition to a record distributed to each clinician of all paid, outstanding, and denied claims monthly.

All clinical support is based on the clinicians needs and preferences. This may include weekly admin check in’s, and weekly/bi-weekly/monthly consultation.

Each clinician will receive support in applying to be credentialed with BCBS, Aetna, Magellan, United Behavioral Health, and Cigna to ensure the process is smooth with the least amount of delay.
